Hootsuite

Hootsuite is one of the best-known names in social media, with its management platform offering a wide range of features for different commercial needs. Though Hootsuite claims that more than 800 Fortune 1000 companies use its software, it can also provide great solutions for small businesses.

The platform provides all the core tools you’d expect to see, but Hootsuite have added more powerful functionality than some of their competitors. Scheduling is a key tool here, with hundreds of posts able to be scheduled at once over numerous brands. There’s also a content calendar, allowing users to view all scheduled posts at once and easily amend them before they go live.

Content curation is one of Hootsuite’s particular strengths, with a library showing where and when assets were last used. The ‘Hootlet’ extension also allows you to add to that library or schedule posts with content you come across online, while integrations with Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, and other cloud services mean that you can access content from anywhere.

Hootsuite offers several plans for various business needs. A free plan offers one user with 30 scheduled messages. A professional tier, costing £25 per month, offers one user unlimited scheduling for ten social profiles – perfect for a startup, for example. A team tier costs £99 per month, a business tier costs £520 per month, and an enterprise tier has negotiable prices depending on team need. Support is available via email.
